What To Do At An Open Casting Call? And First Acting Auditions?

Okay so I’m 14 and I’ve recently started acting. I have an appointment for an open casting call this saturday and they’ve called me in for an audition. They’ve told me to dress casually for the audition and to bring two different professional headshots. So I was wondering what I should expect and what I should do to prepare for the audition. This is my very first audition and I really don’t know what to expect and what I will be asked to do. So any comments or advice will help out a lot! Thanks.

It’s officially not a true open casting if they called you for an audition. So relax. They’ve already seen something that they llike. Take what your next neighbor (yes, your next door neighbor…the one you may know that well) is your best two headshots. The neighbor or a teacher will have an honest opinion as opposed to you or your friends. The day of the event. Take a small radio, cd player, or i-pod with headsets…a magazine or book. When you get there, sit listen to your music and read. This will keep you in your space and not somebody elses space. Talking with other people will only distract you from what you want to do. When its your turn, breathe, relax, but most of all just be yourself.
Luck be a lady…and with you.
