Do movie theaters have the right to card you MULTIPLE times?

Eric H asked: So I saw the Happening, and I was carded when I bought my tickets, at the door, at the entrance to The Happening, and by an usher DURING THE MOVIE! It is simply ridiculous. Do they have the right to card me multiple times or once I am in the theater?
