If you have your headshot, resume, and training you can ask your acting coach about auditions, talk to film students, go online for auditions (be careful), go on craigslist (be very careful), or look in a trades paper. If all else fails you may need to submit your info to a talent agency to find you work.

I don’t know how far you are from Chicago but you can set up an account on Actorsaccess.com, upload your headshots and resume, and check out your local breakdowns all for free. If you want to submit yourself for anything electronically it will cost you $2.00 each time or you can subscribe to Showfax (a sides service) for $68 per year which gives you unlimited submissions for a year which is a great deal. Plus as a Showfax subscriber you can look at sides for projects that are casting and use them as practice…
There’s also backstage.com. not sure if they have much for your area though. Check out casting search and do a free search to see. Subscribe if you think it’s worth it to you.
I would stay away from Craig’s list, just too shady for me. If you do it anyway, take a friend and some pepper spray.
