I am looking for a theater that does dinner and a moive, serves drinks, or even just plays some older movies for cheap. I need something better than just a movieplex. I am willing to drive out of the city if necessary.

Try the Century Theaters in Evanston. There’s a Wolfgang Puck’s and a bar right there. They have just opened a new theater in Rosemont, near O’Hare, that is supposed to be something else with an elegant area. You pay a big price but the food comes with it.

Try, in Rosemont.
I went there last week, it was great. Dinner, drinks and a movie. They are current movies though, nothing older.

Hollywood Blvd in Woodridge.
They serve drinks and food. Executive office chair seating (they lean back, but don’t really recline)
They are located on 75th Street just off Lemont Road. You can take 355 to 75th, turn left off the ramp about a mile up the road on your right. They also have a website..

Hollywood Boulevard. I think it’s in Naperville or Bolingbrook. They actually have servers that bring you your meal while you watch the movie. They have a decent menu too (fries, sandwiches, burgers, etc). It’s pretty cool. They even have a bar!

In addition to Hollywood Boulevard, there also is one in Yorktown Shopping Center in Lombard with the same concept.

While the Gene Siskel Theater doesn’t serve drinks or dinner, they have wonderful artsy films and festivals that you don’t get a chance to catch anyplace else. You can always get something to drink at one of the many surrounding restaurants but the films are a treat. Depending on the film or event, the writers will come and speak after the films. It’s great!
