Are you sure they aren’t? The Iron Man preview seemed to be in 5.1.

im not sure what sound settings the sd videos give you but the hd videos are in 5.1. maybe you have surround sound with an sdtv so your downloading the sd version and its not in 5.1. like i said, ive never downloaded the sd version so i cant be sure but thats the most logical answer.

It depends on which trailers you downloaded.
Some trailers (especcially HD trailers) are in 5.1 and others are in simple stereo sound.
Is your PS3 correctly set up with a TOSLINK cable to your surround decoder? Or are you using a HDMI cable to your Surround decoder wich passes the signal through to your TV?
This could also be the reason you don’t get 5.1.
