Take some acting classes, but keep an eye on auditions.com website for plays and films in your area. Then you can audition if you see something that might be good for you.

Theatre all the way!
Start with theatre training and than just take workshops and classes to help you learn the film style. Plus it’s easier to get into theatre due to community and school which is everywhere, than film which is generally concentrated to specific cities.
