There is a little box in my office on wall called Circon. What is the black button for on the right?

blah blah blah asked:
In my new office there is a little white box with a Circon lable on the front. There is a little black button on the right which can be pressed. What does that button do?

Looks like Circon is an HVAC controls manufacturer.
Just a guess at best, but the box is a sensor. Probably temperature, maybe pressure as well.
In a modern commercial building, it would typically send a signal to your Building Automation System (BAS) which uses the input to execute its program routine.
The black button might, and I emphasize might, initiate a recalibration sequence for an air velocity controller servicing your space.
On edit: It more likely would send an override signal to the occupancy status of your space. e.g. The routine might go to energy saving settings at 5 pm (unoccupied status). Pushing the button might tell the system you are actually occupying the space and to maintain ‘occupied’ environment settings for a predetermined time frame.
A friendly conversation with your maintenance department would clear the mystery up quickly. Initiate the conversation with a box of doughnuts… we like doughnuts.
